PORTO V BENFICA: PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIP 1x2

Porto (18-4-7) bring their season to a close, and it has very much been a case of them playing second fiddle in all competitions to great rivals Benfica. Only third and sixteen points adrift, it will be difficult for Porto fans to take, but at least they get a chance here to get one over their old foes. They have only won two of their last six played in all competitions, but will be well up for this final game of the season. Benfica (23-5-1) won the domestic League cup in midweek to add to the league title, and a massive week is ahead of them with both the Europa league final and domestic cup final also. They could finish the season with an impressive four trophies, including all domestic honours, and it would be a measure of their superiority in Portugal over the season if they achieve it. You would never expect them to take a clash with Porto lightly, but this really is the least important of their upcoming matches, and Jesus will make some changes for it which should be taken into account when thinking about a bet on the game.

Porto at 1.73(8/11)Bet365 may look short, but with the week Benfica have ahead it makes sense, and is actually worth betting on. A fully fired up Porto will want to give their fans some cheer after a disappointing season for them, and against a far from fully strength Benfica they can at least achieve that. The Europa league final is the big priority for Benfica in the week ahead, and with a domestic cup final also next weekend it would be foolish to think a full strength Benfica side will take to the field for this. Porto should win this and the odds of 1.73 are worth taking a they will no doubt shorten further when the Benfica team sheet is made available.
